Behind the Red Glasses: A Collecting Conversation with Sally Jessy Raphael

Elizabeth McLeod sits down with the iconic Sally Jessy Raphael — legendary talk show trailblazer, broadcasting pioneer, and lifelong collector — for an intimate  conversation.

Best known for captivating audiences for over 21 groundbreaking years with The Sally Jessy Raphael Show, Sally now shares a lesser-known side of her story and that of a passionate collector.

The candid conversation includes the stories behind collecting Danish Impressionist paintings, antique furniture, and eclectic décor from around the world.

Sally offers thoughtful insights into what it means to live a life of adventure guided by curiosity, and reveals the stories behind her most treasured pieces, as well as her own creative process as a painter.

Many of the works discussed in this episode will be featured in the highly anticipated auction of Sally Jessy Raphael’s private collection, taking place June 27–29 at Thomaston Place Auction Galleries.
