"Consignment: The Inside Story," with guest Kaja Veilleux

Every auction begins with discoveries. But uncovering unique and valuable pieces is only the start of the process that brings those items before our bidders at Thomaston Place Auction Galleries, and in the first of a two-part Auction Waves series, our founder, Auctioneer Kaja Veilleux, joins Elizabeth McLeod to demystify the process of auction consignment. You'll follow Kaja step by step as he explains how so many rare and precious items find their way to our auction block, and how the Thomaston Place team works with consigners every step of the way to ensure a satisfying auction experience.

This timely discussion will conclude in our next release, as Kaja leads Elizabeth through the post-auction process. Listeners to this special series of podcast episodes will be fully informed, as Thomaston Place continues to accept consignments for its Summer Splendor Auction, coming in June. The consignment deadline for that important three-day auction is Friday, April 17th.

About Kaja Veilleux

Kaja Veilleux needs no introduction to collectors of antiques, fine art, and other rarities worldwide. A lifelong collector himself, he's been a major force on the New England auction scene for half a century, bringing to bear an encyclopedic knowledge both of the pieces themselves and of the ever-changing market forces that shape their value. As originator of the "Free Appraisal Day" concept, he has helped thousands of people to unlock the monetary value of their heirlooms, and continues to relish the discoveries each new day brings.
