What Is It About Turquoise?
With Special Guest Laura Anderson
What is it about turquoise? Is it the rich shimmer of its delicate blue? Is it the romance of its origins? Is it the honored place it holds in Native American culture? Is it the distinctive beauty of a polished stone set in gleaming hand-worked silver? On our latest edition of Auction Waves, Elizabeth McLeod explores these and other questions with jewelsmith Laura Anderson of the Thomaston Place Auction Galleries team, who shares a lifetime of experience working with this fascinating mineral, and some of the unique lore surrounding its production and appreciation.
