Previewing Summer Splendor - Day 1
Soldier, administrator, and distant relative of Winston Churchill? That's General Sylvester Churchill, and in this edition of Auction Waves you'll hear his story as Elizabeth McLeod takes you on a walking tour of Day One of our Summer Splendor Auction, featuring several items of Gen. Churchill's personally-owned memorabilia, including the impressive presentation sword he received in 1847 in recognition of his courage at the Battle of Buena Vista. And, our staff firearms specialist Zeb Casperson introduces you to a spectacular example of fine 19th Century English gunsmithing with an examination of a rare Jonathan Ross & Son shotgun in nearly-unused condition.
