THOMASTON, MAINE — Gems, gold, silver, and surprises make up the catalog on Friday, April 24th at 11AM sharp, as Thomaston Place Auction Galleries unveils its 2026 Spring Jewelry Auction. Auctioneer Kaja Veilleux will offer hundreds of lots, featuring fine estate items extending from the Victorian and Edwardian eras down to the present day, and including exciting designs spanning the globe from the design workshops of New York and London to unique pieces created by jewelry artisans of Continental Europe, Mexico, India, China, and Japan.
Notable pieces featured in this auction include a delicate leaf-spray brooch in 14K gold fashioned in Germany for Tiffany & Company, a breathtaking vintage ring in 14K white gold set with five diamonds in brilliant and old European cuts in the shape of a floral bouquet, and an ornate silver-gilt bracelet crafted in China, set with four large carved pastel-shaded gemstones including two spectacular pink tourmalines, a lime-yellow citrine, and a blue aquamarine. Other pieces to be featured in the sale highlight a dazzling assortment of gems, including rubies, sapphires, opals, amethysts, spinels, peridots, garnets, turquoise, iolite, lapiz lazuli, and carved coral, elegantly displayed in settings of yellow, rose, and white gold, and fine sterling silver.
Also featured in the auction will be a selection of rare and interesting watches, including an original 1940s specimen of the famous Tudor Oyster Centregraph in running condition, a substantial American Waltham pocket watch housed in an engraved gold-filled case, and a fine contemporary ladies' watch by Raymond Weil in an unusual dodecagonal shape.
