THOMASTON, Maine — November 2025 — Celebrating the vibrant colors of fall and Maine’s heritage as the “Treasure Chest of America,” Thomaston Place Auction Galleries proudly announces Autumn Majestic 2025, a four-day auction event showcasing a dazzling diversity of fine art, rare antiques, Americana, folk art, and worldly treasures.

The sale will take place November 6, 7, 8 and 9, 2025, beginning daily at 11 a.m. EST, and will feature more than 1,700 exceptional objects spanning centuries of art, design, culture, and creativity from around the globe.

Day One opens with outdoor sporting themes deeply connected to Maine’s traditions and landscape, featuring an outstanding collection of firearms, militaria, and fish decoys. The following three days expand into a remarkable presentation of American paintings, furniture, Asian art, folk art, nautical pieces, estate jewelry, memorabilia, modern design, and classic cars — offering inspiration for collectors at every level.

Across all four days, Autumn Majestic 2025 unfolds as a journey through centuries of creativity — from early Americana and maritime craftsmanship to modern design and international works of fine art. Each session reveals the passion and provenance that define Thomaston Place Auction Galleries’ enduring commitment to quality, preservation, and discovery.

Fine Art Highlights

Anchoring the event is Rooster with Brood (1971) by Dahlov Ipcar, a cornerstone painting offered for the first time at auction, with distinguished provenance from the personal collection of the late Linda Bean, granddaughter of outdoor outfitter L.L. Bean. This remarkable work — Bean’s first art acquisition — marks the beginning of one of Maine’s most significant private art collections.

The auction also presents a vast array of American art, featuring works by James Fitzgerald, Joseph Knowles, Lynn Drexler, and Imero Gobbato, alongside international talents Kee Fung Ng and Min Wae Aung. Complementing these are distinguished selections by masters such as Pablo Picasso, along with noted American painters Eric Sloane, William Thon, Timothy Wilson, and R. Emmett Owen. Contemporary voices including Karl Holmqvist, Robert Remsen Vickrey, Douglas Anthony Metro, and Yankel Ginzburg round out a compelling cross-section of artistic achievement — from regional to national, and pre-modern to contemporary eras.

Additional Highlights

  • Pre-Modern Fine Art: 18th–19th century American and European paintings, featuring Robert Henri and others from the pre-modern and classical traditions.

  • American Furniture & Design: Thomas Moser and Vladimir Kagan dining sets; Maine-made Windsor Chairmakers pieces; early American Federal and Chippendale examples.

  • Americana & Folk Art: Early Bellamy eagle, Jarvis Boone sailor panels, vintage Maine signs, and several works by Disney animator and Maine artist Maurice "Jake" Day.

  • Memorabilia: Civil War flags, Lincoln relics, vintage sports and fashion collectibles.

  • Asian Art: Qing-dynasty jade carvings, Burmese bronze sculptures, Republic-period porcelain.

  • Estate Jewelry & Watches: Art Deco diamonds, emeralds, and timepieces by IWC, Omega, and Vacheron Constantin.
