Founded in 1976, Free Appraisal Day has become a defining part of Thomaston Place legacy as the institution marks its 50th anniversary in 2026. Half a century ago, company founder Kaja Veilleux introduced Free Appraisal Day at Newcastle Square in Maine—well before programs like Antiques Roadshow captured the public imagination (the original UK series premiered in 1979, followed by the American version in 1997).

On Tuesdays, Thomaston Place Auction Galleries continues to welcome the public to bring any object for a complimentary fair market evaluation.
